Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy has been advised by veteran Ghanaian music artiste Gyedu Blay Ambuley to quit dancehall music and promote his hometown music, that is music that originates from the volta region.
Speaking in an interview Ambuley advised Stonebwoy to sell his identity and culture as Sean Paul did with his and became famous.
He said “Sean Paul spoke and used patua which is identified with his home country when he featured Stonebwoy on his ‘original music’ hit song. He also said of his displeasure with Stonebwoy for not using any Ghanaian language to sell out his nation to the world.”
The man who first brought rap music in Ghana which is named ‘Simi‘ also took a swipe of the current generation of musicians in the country especially hiplife artiste saying they sing meaningless songs and have lost track of hiplife.
Before ending the interview he made it known that rap music in the world was originated by him and not the Sugar Hill Gang Music Group as specified by the Guinness book of record.
